Yes, you’re getting a little bit of a life update post. So many of you have been with me since the beginning. Two years ago when I started this little blog I never realised I’d make friends along the way and it seems only fair to keep you informed on the crazy goings on.
You’ll remember that I became a little bit obsessed with eSports at the beginning of the year. I desperately believe that the players involved in this scene have the ability to go on and turn this in to a viable career. I think we have incredible talent that needs a platform. I like to believe I do my little bit hitting you with eSports coverage on the regular. I’m hoping my little contribution and so many other people’s giant contributions can aid to build this sport. My main goal has been to make eSports interesting to the casual gamer or just a nerdy fan. You don’t need to be watching Twitch streams all weekend or playing for hours at a time to enjoy watching Dota 2 or CSGO. That’s been my goal from the get go.
The Evetech Champions League is letting me take that goal to the next level.
I’m excited to be able to say that I’m going to be MCing the Evetech Champion’s League from the 2nd to the 4th of September. It is one of South Africa’s biggest CSGO tournaments yet and will be live streamed so you don’t need to be in studio to enjoy the action. Talking about the studio, here’s a sneak peek behind the scenes at them building it. The studio will be in Centurion at Evetech’s head offices. How sick does it look so far?
I am so incredibly nervous. I’m not going to lie. I really want to do a good job. On top of the ECL I’m also going to be moving to a new place on the 1st of September. So it is going to be one crazy weekend. I’m really excited about the new spot though, mainly because I will have gorgeous white washed wooden floors for blog photos (priorities right?). But the chaos doesn’t end there. I have some really exciting rAge Telkom Masters news as well, which I’ll share with you in a future life update (yes, I know, giant tease!). So the next few months are going to be absolutely insane. I’m really grateful to Jade and Marco who keep Tech Girl filled with fun content when I’m off doing crazy things. They really are such great friends and amazing bloggers. Maybe we should change to blog’s name to Tech Grills?

There will be a live stream of the event but there is also limited space available for spectators. The space not only includes a place to watch the action live but also a chill area where you can mingle with players, grab some refreshments and hang out with like minded gaming geeks.
