About Me

Hello. I’m Sam “Tech Girl” Wright, I mainly work in esports so you’ve likely seen me desk hosting Counter-Strike events. I was one of the hosts for the Blast TV Paris Major, I’ve worked as an interviewer for ESL Challenger and you’ve probably also seen me desk host and interview for various PUBG competitions. I’ve done a lot of esports stuff. I also host a podcast about gaming and Esports called Tech Girl Talks and sometimes I add things to this blog. I’ve got a bunch of social media accounts you can check out as well. So if you’re into gaming and esports you might enjoy the content you find here.

We bought a house! Chiö & Köji hang out with us We bought a house! Chiö & Köji hang out with us inside. We wanted them to have their own spaces that still suited the aesthetic of our home. We found these @rogzsouthafrica beds & mats … I cannot recommend them enough! The lounge flat mat (in L) is Chiö’s fav. It’s got a lot of cushioning and we’ve got two in brown to go in the bedroom and lounge (the covers come off and you can throw them in the washing machine - winning!). The walled bed was for Köji but apparently Chiö likes that too. Also super cushiony (even a word?😂). Love that the neutral colour range means these can go in any room & look good! Happy puppies. This was me at the BLAST Paris Major last year. I This was me at the BLAST Paris Major last year. I was so incredibly nervous & remember sitting in the green room with mad imposter syndrome. That whole event is just a giant blur because the emotions were so extreme. Majors are the pinnacle of this game we love so much. For everyone involved. Being asked to be on the broadcast is, imo, the biggest honour & privilege. In less than 48 hours I fly out to be part of the Shanghai Major broadcast team. I can only hope I do the event, teams, my colleagues & fans justice. I’ll try my best. However, please be kind. It has come to my attention that I no longer own a single pair of socks which haven’t been chewed by my puppy. So if I’m not delivering as you’d expect, just remember that I’m likely dealing with my big toe poking through a hole in my sock most days 🤷🏻‍♀️ 📸 @ishootesport

2 nominations for the South African Podcast Awards 2 nominations for the South African Podcast Awards! I’ve put a stack of energy into the various podcast series I’ve done over the years. It started with an esports series which was nominated for podcast of the year at the inaugural DSTV Content Creator Awards. At the beginning of the year I went all in on Counter-Strike content after being pushed by @thooorinofficial (who I’m VERY grateful to). Making the shows is the best part but it is nice to get a little bit of external validation sometimes too.
