Once in awhile I’ve used Facebook to flog something. When it comes to moving items though I much prefer Twitter. Mainly because once the item has been sold I can delete my tweet. When using Facebook I can easily remove one of my personal status updates no issue BUT have you ever tried to advertise in a group? What a mission! I belong to a few groups and I’ve tried to sell things in them. Once the item is sold I can never find the post to remove it and tend to spend a lot having to reply to people messaging me with a “sorry it has been sold” reply.
It’s a mission.
Facebook has now introduced a clever knew feature in For Sale groups. When you create a post in one of these groups you can select the sell option, fill in the item details, price the item and then even add a pick up or delivery address option. Clever.
You’ll also have access to a catalogue of items you sell so you can mark when they are no longer available in your personal log, instead of having to scroll through all the other posts in a group.
This is such a clever idea making it far easier to sell your things on Facebook. I also think this is going to give young business owners a great way to sell products online without investing in a website and hoping people will visit it. You can set up a Facebook group and build your client base from there!
