Win a set of Solar Jars – perfect Valentine’s Day gift!

I’m a huge supporter of sustainable energy. With our current loadshedding issues I wish Eskom was too. If you want to do your bit to you need to check out Sustainable.co.za. Sustainable.co.za is South Africa’s oldest online eco store. They’ve been focused on providing you and I with alternative energy for over a decade.

Their site is filled with alternative energy products and I love how each item in the online store has a complete information break down that includes a material break down and environmental impact of the product.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner they’ve offered you a chance to light up your love life with a pair of I Love You solar jars. I love how these cute jars add a gorgeous touch to any decor. During the day you leave them outside or on your window sill to charge, then in the evening they automatically light up with a soft blue light. If you’re wondering how they work – inside the jar there is a solar cell, rechargable battery and LED lamp. While in sunlight the cell creates an electronic current and then charges the battery. That energy then powers up the LED lamp in the evening. The light shines through the frosted jar and gives the appearance of sunlight in the evenings.

These I Love You solar jars are especially unique in that they’re handpainted. I just love the Lady Bug touches.

If you’d like to win a set of the I Love You solar jars (valued at about R400) all you need to do is comment on this post with the one thing that lights up your life… it could be your boyfriend, your pet, your favourite tune or even your favourite chocolate. Share it with us!
