I was casually minding my own business on Friday when Cashmere Tart tagged me in an Urban Decay post on Instagram. The post was from the official Urban Decay account and clearly hints at a Game of Thrones collaboration.
We see a blue and metallic white eye makeup effect that has strong bold lines and hints to a warrior. The caption reads:
Urban Decay products tend to make up the majority of my make up collection. Mainly because my friend Irina (she has a blog here) actually got me into the brand but also into make up as a whole so I’m loyal to it now, but also because I really love their bright colours and the way the products can be used by just about anyone. I never feel awkward walking into store or browsing products online. When I say awkward – I probably mean intimidated. Also, browns and oranges suit my eyes and Urban Decay is the only one that gets the burnt orange metallics just right for what I need. Anyway, I can lament on about the brand or you can go check out some of my reviews on it here. For now, let’s get back to Game of Thrones.
From what I can tell this will be the show’s first official makeup collaboration. And I’m all for it. Here’s another teaser Urban Decay posted to Instagram:
So what do we know so far?
Very little. From what I can tell we can expect the make up range to drop around the same time as the next season of the show – so April 2019. The rest is all speculation at this point. The books and thus TV series all form part of “A song of Fire and Ice”. I’m going to guess that we’re going to see the oranges, reds and browns I love so much from the brand. On the flip side, and based off the first teaser image, I’m expecting a nod to the Night King and his world of ice. I presume we’ll see high sheen metallics and strong blues in the mix. Maybe two palettes? One fire and one ice? Or double sided?
Another item I’d love to see is a highlighter palette inspired by the show: the option for gooey bronzing combined with the chic ice inspired metallic highlighter when you want to glam it up….
I’m getting WAY ahead of myself. I just see so many incredible options for this collaboration. It’s got me psyched for the show and for new make up. I’ve already started saving!
