I like to think that I have quite a good general knowledge. I love quizzes and trivia. And QI is one of my favourite shows. I’d never go on a game show because I’m shocking in front of a camera (think awkward turtle) but this week I found an app that could change all that. Introducing HQ Trivia – the live trivia game show app. I played it last night and despite my optimism, I think my get rich quick scheme is going to take a while (it’s not as easy as you think). All this and more in this week’s Bytesized. (If you’d like to listen to the podcast associated with this post, click here)

For this week only: turn Google Maps into Mario Kart
I drove home using this function and got really excited when it started. The sound effects are everything. All you do is go to Google Maps, enter your destination and instead of clicking Start Navigation, click the ?Β next to it. This is in honour of March 10 which is Mario Day (Mar10).
Happy Mar10 Day!

??Alexa thinks you’re funny (not really, she is laughing at you)
Alexa, the voice assistant from Amazon, recently started randomly laughing at people in their homes. And if you’re wondering what kind of laugh, it is creepy AF. Have a listen below.

People started to wonder why Alexa was laughing…
Of course Alexa is laughing at you. She sees what you do and say in your home. Now burn her. Burn them all.

… and started to get paranoid
If Alexa is laughing at you to your face, just imagine what it says about you behind your back.

Amazon did, however,Β find a solution (it was a default setting and how Alexa was hearing things).
People are freaking out over Alexa laughing or whatever? Saying technology is taking over I guess? Just pour water on it if you're that afraid lmao

I got Alexa to stop laughing at me. I told her that I still control the power plug.

How to stop Alexa laughing at you? Unplug the bitch. Now who's laughing?

?βWant to be on a game show? Well there’s an app for that
HQ Trivia, created by the same people that brought us Vine, is a game show trivia app that allows you to play to win money. I only discovered this app when I read a headline about a 25-year-old who won $25k playing HQ Trivia.Β
Once you’ve downloaded the app and created an account, you will get a push notification to let you know when the game goes live.
And the rules are as follows: there are 12 questions and you have to get them all right to win the prize. If more than one person wins, the prize money is split and if no one does, it rolls over.
