The age of the internet has matured in to a sexy 30 year old ready to own her space. I’ve become obsessed with shopping online only. Other than that quick toilet paper run (and even then, there’s a site for that) almost everything I purchase is bought online and delivered to my door.
One of my favourite stores has clearly seen the trend and is now moving away from a physical setting and embracing the eCommerce life. For the last two years I’ve owed my organisation (snort) to my Macaroon Diary. It is a gorgeous big book with the months tabbed out. Despite blogging about tech on the regular I tend to prefer writing my to do lists every day rather than typing them on my phone. I also prefer scheduling appointments in a diary old school style. The Macaroon offering was ideal because it was big enough for me to include ALL THE THINGS. The hard cover also means that mid way through the year my diary still looks presentable.
Macaroon doesn’t only do diaries though.
The custom print on a host of items with gorgeous designs and personalisation. Their personalised phone covers are begging me to purchase them and I’ve blogged before about how I use their sticker range as clever Laptop Decals. The store used to have a physical space in Parkhurst but they’ve now made the call to take it completely online and rather focus on an eCommerce store. The new website is beautifully designed but it is far more than the design element that impressed me.
The Macaroon team have really thought about how they’d offer the best service to their customers – their suppliers are all integrated in to custom Macaroon dashboards with orders being dropboxed to them immediately. Obviously printing on a host of different materials requires various printers and suppliers. Integrating the system in a way that your suppliers have access to your customer orders as they occur is really smart and a great way to ensure product gets delivered fast. I hate waiting for weeks on end for my online purchases so this really appealed to me.
The products on offer are all personalised and produced locally as well. So the items are 100% locally designed, developed, produced and dispatched. I’m a sucker for gorgeous South African items and love to support small businesses. So I’m definitely going in to 2017 with another personalised Macaroon diary.
Which is your favourite item on the Macaroon online store?
Disclaimer: I missed this when I first received the email but it was pointed out to me after this article went up. I was given a voucher to test out the new online store. I have not used it as yet but I still wanted to disclose.
