Right, full disclosure before we get into this: I do work with OMEN by HP regularly. I currently game on an OMEN by HP notebook. This post was not sponsored nor am I being paid to attend the event I’m mentioning below. I’m telling you about this because I think it is something you might want to attend and because I’m going as I think it is going to be fun. They might even let me swing a mic around.
Introducing the HP Gaming Club
OMEN by HP is one the biggest names in gaming internationally. They’ve begun to make their presence felt in South Africa too (Overwatch and Beat Saber at Comic Con anyone?). Internationally OMEN is all about bringing the gaming community together and providing the best tech to play on. One of the distributors of OMEN by HP, the HP Store, is continuing that philosophy by starting their own Gaming Club. Here’s how it works: signing up to be a member is free. As a member you get access to exclusive deals (right now they’re offering around 2k off the new OMEN 15 range as well was free peripheral bundles exclusive to club members), competitions for club members only and exclusive events.
The new OMEN 15 range
The first of these exclusive events is a special first hands on with the new OMEN 15 range which has landed in the country. Usually these first look events are reserved for media who attend, gobble free food and tweet to tell you about the chocolate covered strawberries. But now, you get to take their place.
15 February at the HP store in Sandton City
Gaming Club members will be able to get hands on with the new range, enjoy some refreshments (I’m not sure if there will be chocolate covered strawberries, so don’t set your hopes on it) and win a brand new OMEN 15 i5 Notebook.
GIVE ME THE NOTEBOOK
The Gaming Club event starts at 6:30 and will run till about 9pm. Every attendee stands a chance to win an OMEN hamper valued at around 15k. You’ll also be able to take part in a fun tournament (on the new range). The winner of the tournament walks away with the brand new OMEN 15 i5 notebook. Anyone is going to be able to compete, no matter your gaming level, so don’t worry!
How do I attend?
This is an exclusive event and numbers are limited. You’ll need to sign up to the Gaming Club. You can do that by clicking here. Once signed up you’ll get your invite (if there are still tickets available, but there are more of these events to come so now you’re on “the list” regardless). I’ll also be there to jam on the new OMEN by HP range because I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet so it should be fun. So we’ll be able to have a little Tech Girl community meet up while we’re there.
Let me know if you get your invite in the comments below. Should I vlog the fun?
