Commentating Wimbledon eChamps 2024 was a surreal experience. BLAST, Wimbledon and American Express bought this event to life and I had the incredible opportunity to provide live commentary for a tournament which bridged the tennis traditions of Wimbledon alongside the growing world of esports. Instead of the usual matches on the grass courts, players battled it out in TopSpin 2K25, capturing all the skill and intensity of real tennis in a virtual arena.

I got to work alongside some of the best in the business bringing this world first to Tennis and TopSpin fans. I loved how the prestige of Wimbledon could be added to the event and watching the finalists, who had qualified from all around the world, just loving the moment was such a rad experience. I also loved working with the Wimbledon team who were passionate and excited to bring this event to life.

The team brought the same energy and precision they bring to all their esports broadcasts and found a way to elevate each match to create a captivating experience for everyone watching at home or on the grounds. The level of excitement and anticipation felt like we were at a live Tennis match, but this time online.

I was a bit out of my comfort zone doing this one. However, I really enjoyed the challenge and incredible support from everyone involved. I thought the event was beautifully done and a once in a life time experience not only for the participants, but a lot of us working on the tournament itself. The Wimbledon eChamps 2024 was more than just an esports event – it was an inspiring moment for both gaming and sports. It was an honour to part of this historic fusion and I cannot wait to see where this journey takes us next!
