Boxcloud supplies online storage for physical stuff

I’m in the process of moving. On the 1st of September I’ll be taking the leap and moving out of my little flat in to a two bedroom place with a good friend of mine. We’ll have a stack more space and the new place is absolutely gorgeous. It has my dream kitchen, incredible white washed wooden floors and a gorgeous street with old green trees. It’s going to be blogger heaven and I cannot wait.

But moving is stressful as hell.

I’ve collected so many things in the little time I’ve been in this flat and I’m dreading packing it all away. I’ve already got boxes sitting at my mom’s house filled with items. Moving in with a friend means we’ll be doubling up on furniture and appliances. I’m not really to sell off my stuff and would rather put it in storage. But when I think storage my geek mind begins to travel to dodgy container yards, drug deals and potential dead bodies (don’t ask).

Which is why this new online service I’ve found is rather rad

  • Boxcloud supplies storage. However, they take the headache out of the physical labour. You book your storage online.
  • Rather than paying for a full container or unit, you pay for the space you use. R79 per month for large items like couches and R49 per month for any type of box.
  • You book the storage online and Boxcloud sends someone to collect – you don’t need to drive to container yards!
  • Once you’ve booked your storage collection is free. When you need to get your stuff back you just go online, click a few buttons and have it paid to be delivered. Easy as.

The Boxcloud storage facility has 24 hour security and CCTV set up, your stuff remains untouched and each box is insured for R2000 in the case of theft or fire. There is also an online platform that allows you to see items you’re storing, label them, add descriptions and obviously click them to have them delivered back to you.

My new place requires you to move out two days before the 1st of the month, so the house can be cleaned for the new tenants. Even though I’m not planning on moving any time soon (once I’m in), I did stress about how you handle that. Where would you store items for two days (as most places only let you move in on the 1st). A service like Boxcloud would be ideal. I could get them to come collect, store the items for a few days and then get my stuff delivered to my new spot (basically just did away with movers, see what I did there?).

Do you have a storage unit or container? Would you swop to Boxcloud? Let me know in the comments below.

I'd love to chat to you some more.
