8 places to chill online

There are a thousand and one websites in our online biosphere these days, all attempting to grab our attention. I’m not going to dwell on those websites. I want to quickly share with you my favourite places to chill online, the places I go to when I need a brainy-break and want to just lounge. So, just grab that bottle of coke and chill:

  1. Buzzfeed

Buzzfeed is that one spot on the web that puts a spin on every kind of human experience you can imagine and cracks jokes that reignite memories and allow you to waste a considerable amount of time. It’s a huge library of interestingness.

  1. Post Secret

Imagine the all the secrets you could possibly cultivate through life – from silly fears to frightening details. They’re all on Post Secret. This place makes me appreciate diversity in a somewhat peaceful way.

  1. Oatmeal Comics

Um, who doesn’t love Oatmeal? Expect to have your tea come out of your nose when you crack up surfing this website.

  1. The Fun Stuff section on Tech Girl

It’s a mix of girliness, geekiness and hilarity. Also, my editor made me write this (kidding, not kidding). You can find it here.

  1. Clients from Hell

I never get over the simplicity and wealth of laughter I harvest from this place. The content on Clients from Hell is so easy to place, especially if you deal with clients on a regular basis or are in the service industry.

  1. This week in blackness

I’m a black woman and I enjoy the perspective shared on This week in blackness. It’s my community and one I enjoy engaging with.

  1. 1000 Awesome Things

All the lovely awkwardness you’ve ever dealt with is displayed on 1000 Awesome Things for you to remember and laugh at. The website is a countdown of life’s little joys.

  1. Finally, my hoard of Comics

Check out Dinosaur.com, Doghouse, XKCD, The Non-Adventures of Wonderella, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, Amazing Super Powers and the hashtag #Comics (when it comes to finding this sort of rad ish, Google is your friend!)

I'd love to chat to you some more.

I usually send out a weekly mailer with a recap of blog posts but also some personal anecdotes. If you want to know about competitions or just catch up in a more personal setting then you might like to receive the mailer.
