It would seem that when it comes to tech we’ve been asking all the wrong questions. Ease of use? Cost to consumer? The ability to snap the perfect selfie?
Oh Please.
The real question needs to be – does it sparkle?
Or at least that’s what the major electronics brands want you to think. LG launched a brand new OLED curved TV at IFA Berlin 2014. There’s a few rad aspects to this beauty. For starters, it’s curved. The OLED’s self lighting pixels add a certain quality to your image and it weighs only 16 kgs (it’s also 4 mm deep)… so from a single female perspective I’m reading: I can set this up relatively easily without phoning a man friend.
The big selling point though? LG paired up with Swarovski to design a limited edition of the TV. This once off design beauty has a stand that studded with the Austrian’ sparkle company’s signature crystal finishes. It really is rather pretty:
If you’re still desperate for your own little piece of blingy tech, Samsung announced at IFA that they have also partnered with Swarovski. Their latest smart watch has the option for a Swarovski wrist band.
It’s a matter of time before the Apple Watch bands start blinging. What do you think? Can there be something as too much sparkle?
