WeChat wants to send you to NYC Fashion Week

Ask any aspiring model and they’ll tell you that breaking into the fashion industry is not easy. I can say this will full authority because someone once told me that to model you need to be very aware of maintaining a healthy body weight and eating healthy. This would mean limited chocolate intake which sounds impossible very hard to me.

The point I’m not making very well, is that everyone needs their “big break” or to be spotted. The clever folks at WeChat have found a way to break new talent into the fashion industry. They’ve teamed up with renowned fashion designer Vivienne Tam and are on the lookout for a future global supermodel.

The “Internationally Chic” Runway Model Contest is a worldwide search via the WeChat app to find a muse for Tam. The winner will be flown to New York to walk the catwalk in Tam’s Spring/Summer 2015 fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in September.

The rules are pretty simple. Any woman can enter so long as you are over the age of 18. The competition closes on 25 July and Vivienne Tam will select her top choices from the entries received. The final winner will be voted for by WeChat users. You can either enter via the WeChat app or by visiting the contest website. The winner gets to walk the runway and gets just over R25 000 spending money for her trip. There is also a prize for the runner up which includes a free pass to Tam’s show at NYC Fashion Week or a choice of one of Tam’s gorgeous designer handbags.

So, WeChat wants to send you to NYC Fashion Week, all you need to do is enter!
