The South African Gaming Forum event – why you want to attend

On 28 March 2018, Game Nation SA is hosting the first South African Gaming Forum. They’ll be hosting the event at The Mesh Club in Johannesburg. The event is a great space for local gaming fans to come through but is also going to play host to panel discussions focusing specifically on the local industry. The Forum is going to host conversations around South African Esports, local game development and even discussions around the growing YouTube Gaming and Twitch Streaming communities.

I’m really excited about this one

The Gaming Forum is a bit different to a typical expo because the focus is going to be on networking and discussion around topics that affect not only those that work in the South African scenes but also those that want to support local content. I think the intimate setting and encouragement of conversation is something we desperately need.

There’s some great stuff on the go

Razer is hosting a giant giveaway. As always. Man I love those guys. There are a stack of impressive speakers who will be sharing their knowledge. Me included. You’ll also have a dedicated room to try out JENGO, a locally developed point and click that I’ve had a chance to play and am really excited about. There will also be a Far Cry 5 Gaming room if you need to take a break from all the talking and get in on some gaming action.

VIP passes are R500 and include access to the forum as well as some snacks and drinks.

Here’s the thing: I’ve had a chance to meet Boris a few times. Boris is the gent behind GameNationSA and one of the most passionate and supportive local gaming enthusiasts I’ve had the chance to chat to. This was his baby and I believe the intention to spark dialogue and build the local scene is admirable and also no easy task. His idea takes a huge amount of work, time and effort. Knowing him it will be completely worth it though.

So if you want to book your spot head on over to the site to check out the speaker line up and do just that!

I'd love to chat to you some more.

I usually send out a weekly mailer with a recap of blog posts but also some personal anecdotes. If you want to know about competitions or just catch up in a more personal setting then you might like to receive the mailer.
