When I launched Feed The Trolls, the idea was simple: take a look at the hot takes online from the fans. Trawl HTLV forums and devour reddit. Take those fan or “troll” takes and disect the most trending topics around competitive global Counter-Strike. Fast forward, and we’ve officially hit 50 episodes!
For a show that started out as a bit of a passion project, itโs wild to see how much itโs grown. Over the past 50 episodes, weโve covered everything from shocking roster changes to player beefs, Major upsets, rookie breakouts, and even the occasional meme-worthy meltdown. If itโs making headlines in CS2, weโve probably spoken about it on the podcast. We’ve had some incredible guests and, I think, focusing in on one particular topic within an hour time frame, sets us apart from a lot of the other CS esports focused shows because we deep dive one theme rather than just focusing in on the news only.
What Feed The Trolls Is All About
For the most part I’d argue I’ve explained a lot of that in the first few paragraphs. The show is published on YouTube and then also published on Spotify and all the other major podcast platforms. Even though we’re just over a year old I think we’ve solidified Feed The Trolls as one of the popular Counter-Strike podcasts currently available. We’ve had some incredible guests and I’ve been very lucky to have Thorin as a co-host. He is a well known name and respected figure (albeit sometimes controversial) in the competitive CS space. I think the three person dynamic makes for what is a bit like an anti-desk-desk if we were to speak in broadcasting terms. We currently average around 10 000 views an episode and have had a few accolades along the way including:
Featuring on Spotify Wrapped for video podcasts in Africa in 2024
Being named Feedspot’s top South African Gaming Podcast
Silver winner for the Sports Category for the 2024 SA Podcast Awards
Finalist for Best Content Quality at the 2024 SA Podcast Awards
