At the end of 2024 I was nominated to be one of the creators included in the “Face of Jetour” campaign. The new car brand had launched in South Africa and asked the public which influencers they’d like to see behind the wheel of the all new Dashing. I was nominated (and chosen). Being the Face of Jetour meant I was given a Jetour Dashing to drive for six months. We’re half way through that journey so I thought it was the right time to give you a little update:
I’ve never had the luxury of driving an automatic vehicle and the Dashing I was given, in a beautiful red, is automatic. Which, it turns out, is a complete life saver this month. My mom lives around 45 to 50 minutes away from me but she had hip replacement surgery at the start of the month. I’ve been driving backward and forward to assist her. I predominately work overseas of esports broadcasts so I’m not really used to sitting in traffic day in and day out. Turns out an automatic vehicle is the life saver I didn’t know I needed in these circumstances. The car is an easy drive. It’s perfect for cruising along the highway but also big enough and secure enough on the road that I feel like heading “off the beaten trail” would be a good vibe as well – something I definitely need to make the time to do!
All the tech
The Jetour Dashing is priced just under half a million rand but even at what might be considered a lower price point than other vehicles in this class, it really ticks all the boxes when it comes to the tech. I was especially impressed recently when the car let me know that one of my rear tyres needed some air – it was then that I realised it also monitors the temperature of each individual tyre. Huge safety plus! There’s so much more tech in this car – I’m a big fan of the Apple Car Play and Wireless Charging but that is just skimming the top. I also spent WAY too much time customising the interior lighting, which is really slick and a fun personal touch. It’s also super easy to do from the onboard display.
Summer Road trips
Before summer comes to an end here in South Africa I definitely need to take this little baby cross country. I’d love to see it in a few unique settings and work out how the luxury element of the Dashing combines with what is clearly meant to be a car for those who love the outdoors. In the interim, I’ve prepared the perfect road trip song selection by asking YOU to submit your best summer driving songs. I turned the submissions into a playlist so everyone can enjoy the music, even if they’ve not got behind the wheel of a Dashing yet. You can take a listen on Spotify or Apple Music:
I’m regularly posting content and thoughts on the Jetour Dashing on my various social media accounts so be sure to follow me on there to keep up to date if you’re at all interested in the Jetour brand or the vehicle I’m driving.
