More African countries added to the FIFA 22 Global Series!

FIFA 22 is out and hopefully by now you’ve run out on the pitch. I’m spending the next week deep diving into the game and cannot wait! With the new title in the series launched, Electronic Arts and FIFA have released their EA Sports FIFA 22 esports program. There are a stack of great opportunities for players who want to compete, including the FIFAe Club Series 2022, the FIFAe Nations Series 2022 and the EA Sports FIFA 22 Global Series on the road to the FIFAe World Cup 2022.

The big news is that more African countries have been added to the FIFA 22 Global Series. With FIFAe announcing, on their pitch notes that Kenya, Ghana and Nigeria have been added to the Series and will be eligible to compete! Qualification for the global series starts on 27 November in a 1v1 competitive format. The competition will have online tournaments across 10 global regions and registrations open on 4 October. There will also be more than 30 leagues offering various esports programs which give fans in each nation the opportunity to represent real-world clubs.

The addition of more African countries in the Global Series is the big one but there are still a host of other events on offer. The FIFAe Nations Series 2022 will see member associations competing in a global 2v2 competition, with the tournament kick starting with the FIFAe Nations Online Qualifiers. From the Qualifiers, the top teams will head to the Playoffs before the FIFAe Nations Cup 2022. The FIFAe Club Series will include the debut of 2v2 FIFA Ultimate Team Cups. The FIFA 22 competitive action has already kicked off with a host of celebrities, football stars and top FIFA players showcasing the 2v2 potential and raising money in the Twitch Rivals eSoccer Aid fo UNICEF ft FIFA 22 – which happened on 30 September. The next event will be the FIFA 22 Challenge on 21 October, with top ambassadors representing Team adidas and Team EA Sports.

South African players did extremely well during FIFA 21 in the various global competitions and I believe we’ll see similar shows of brilliance as this season commences. I’m so hyped for where this is going and how the competitive FIFA 22 season will roll out.
