Wow! Do I have something rad to share with you. Logitech G has offered up a Wild Card spot to South Africa for the 2021 Logitech McLaren G Challenge.
What does this mean?
On the 23rd and 24th of October as well as the 30th and 31st of October, Logitech G will host activations at malls around South Africa. Namely:
- Clearwater Mall in Johannesburg
- Centurion Mall in Pretoria
The Sim rigs will be set up in the malls and you simply need to come in and try clock the fastest lap time. The fastest driver over the two weeks will claim the Wild Card spot and win an all-expenses paid trip to the finals weekend which will be held in Las Vegas. The racer will then be able to compete with drivers from the rest of the world.
The Logitech McLaren G Challenge online qualifiers have been running and many South African drivers have been clocking fast times online too. The online qualifiers could also offer a chance to a South African driver to make their way to the US, though they’ll need to work through the various European divisions. For more details on how the competition works, I’ve written a post:

The Wild Card events are specifically physical competitions. Regardless of whether you have a console or gaming PC at home, you’ll be able to enter the Wild Card event. Drivers will race a McLaren 720s GT3 in a Logitech G eracing rig that will be set up and ready for you to go quick fast. All COVID protocols will be followed, so you can rest easy that your safety will be a priority.
