I love podcasts. I think I love them because I can do other stuff while listening. They are also perfect for car trips to work. Here are some of my favourites that I’ve listened to this year so far and I think you’ll like them too.
Cutthroat Inc
Cutthroat Inc looks into the lives of two friends and business partners who seem to have it all. After Christopher Smith mysteriously vanishes and then strange e-mail messages start arriving supposedly from him, those close to him knew something was wrong. But what they discover is far worse than they could have imagined.
In God We Lust
Brought to you by the same folks from Even the Rich (a deep dive into wealthy famous people), In God We Lust is a “you can’t make this stuff up” story of a disgraced evangelist, his wife and their luxury pool attendant lover. This menage a trois wouldn’t be such a big deal if the people involved weren’t from one of America’s most famous evangelical families that run a university with a VERY strict code of conduct.
Bed of Lies
They think they have the perfect relationship. Then he just disappears. One woman’s search to find Mr Right leads her to find other women who have a similar story with the same man. And then they uncover a web of lies. This feels like a real-life James Bond tale and chances are you won’t guess why this man does what he does. Bed of Lies is another so crazy it must be true podcast.
Guru: The Dark Side of Enlightenment
If you watched The Secret, then you’d have heard of James Arthur Ray. After a few deaths at one of his sweat lodges, he is convicted and sent to prison. Guru: The Dark Side of Enlightenment follows that story. People look for meaning and salvation but this goes way too far.
Fool Me Twice
This podcast explores the world of online dating, scams and catfishing and how it can all go horribly wrong. Jules Hannaford was successful and meets Truman, a man who seems to tick all the right boxes. Jules flies halfway across the world to be with him but things are not as they seem. Fool Me Twice explores this true story.
