THIS POST WAS WRITTEN IN COLLABORATION WITH MYSCHOOL CARD
I’ve had a MySchool card for as long as I can remember. I was horrible at remembering to swipe it but two years ago I found out you could use it online and actually link it to your various store cards. It changed the game for me. There are a few reasons why:
? I like that I can financially give back on nearly every purchase I make at most of the stores I frequent weekly.
? I’ve found a host of new charities and organisations to help courtesy of the MySchool network
? The MySchool organisation constantly runs initiatives to help its chosen charities and raise even more money!
The Vote4Charity Campaign
The latest MySchool campaign is currently underway. It is an online voting campaign so you don’t even need to leave your desk! All you need to do is head to the Vote4Charity site here, enter your MySchool card or Woolworths card number and vote for your favourite beneficiary. Your vote automatically gives R5 to your chosen beneficiary. If you then refer a friend to vote by posting on social media, the donation increases to R10.
MySchool has committed to give R1 million to charities during the campaign (which runs from the 18th of May to the 18th of June).
My chosen beneficiary
I have two MySchool beneficiaries that are extremely close to my heart. You might not know but for many years I competed in showjumping, at the highest levels in South Africa. As a horse lover, the work the Highveld Horse Care Unit does is very close to my heart. If you’d like to find out more about them, or understand a bit more about my showjumping story, I’ve written a blog post here.
The second beneficiary is the Shine resource centres. I’ve also written a blog post about the incredible work they do to help South African children learn to read. I’ll need to take some time in deciding which of my beneficiaries to vote for. Luckily with the MySchool card I can load both up as beneficiaries so they receive the benefits of my ridiculous Woolworths Chuckles obsession! With a few days left to vote I want to encourage you to head on over to the page and do it. It takes little to no time and you’ll be raising funds for causes who desperately need it!
Who is your chosen MySchool beneficiary?
