10 Instagram Accounts You Should Follow For The Food Porn

Over the December break, I took some time out to clean up the accounts I’m following across my social media platforms. I’ve found that over time I end up following random accounts that don’t really add anything to my feed. This clean up allows me to remove them and get better content fed to me (mainly because of the stupid algorithms only showing us a small percentage of the accounts we actually follow and all that).

I noticed that many of the accounts I’m following on Instagram are food and baking related. (Funny because I’m not the cooking and baking type) But I found I love watching their videos and seeing their content. So whether you’re a foodie or not, I decided to share some of my favourites with you.

Tasty

Out of all the accounts, I’m sure this is the one most of you will be familiar with. They’re the account that posts those “snack-sized videos and recipes you’ll want to try.” Now, Tasty has a massive following across multiple networks (including 91 Million likes on Facebook), but I specifically want to focus on their Instagram account for this piece.

@tastyjunior is an account focused on “little bites for little hands”. Lowkey would make most of these recipes for myself, nevermind for any kids ?

@buzzfeedtastyveg is their account that showcases all their vegetarian and vegan meals. (Don’t hate it till you try it ? Vegetarian food is really delicious)

Proper Tasty

@proper_tasty has a lot of cool recipes, a lot of them with a very strong UK English home cooking vibes.

@tastyjapan is my personal favourite account of the lot to follow because the cooking techniques are fascinating to watch. From breakfasts to mains and treats, all these recipes have a very strong Japanese / Oriental feeling. Unfortunately, the captions are Japanese but can be translated using Google Translate (the recipes and ingredients are all listed there too).

Você nem vai acreditar, mas este espaguete a carbonara é totalmente vegano! Você vai precisar de: 340g de espaguete 225g (3 xícaras) de cogumelo shiitake, cortado em fatias finas 3 colheres de sopa de azeite de oliva 1/2 colher de chá de páprica defumada 1/2 colher de chá de sal 1/4 colher de chá de pimenta 65g (1/2 xícara) de caju, colocado de molho na noite anterior 60mL (1/4 xícara) de azeite de oliva) 80mL (1/3 xícara) de leite não lácteo sem açúcar 3 dentes de alho, picados 1 1/2 colher de sopa de levedura nutricional 1 1/2 colher de sopa de suco de limão 1/2 colher de chá de pimenta 1 colher de chá de sal 1/4 colher de chá de páprica salsa fresca, para quando for servir Modo de preparo: 1. Preaqueça o forno a 190°C. 2. Cozinhe o macarrão de acordo com as instruções do pacote. 3. Coloque os cogumelos, o azeite, a páprica defumada, o sal e a pimenta em uma tigela média. 4. Disponha a mistura em uma assadeira forrada com papel vegetal e asse por 7 minutos. Vire os cogumelos e asse por mais 7 a 8 minutos, ou até eles ficarem crocantes e marrons. Reserve 5. Para o molho, misture os cajus, o azeite de oliva, os dentes de alho, a levedura nutricional, o leite, o suco de limão, a pimenta, o sal e a páprica em um liquidificador ou processador de alimentos. Misture até ficar suave e cremoso. 6. Escorra o macarrão e depois coloque-o novamente na panela. 7. Acrescente o molho e mexa até que o macarrão esteja bem coberto pelo molho. 8. Acrescente o bacon de cogumelo à mistura. 9. Salpique salsa. 10. Bom apetite! Rende: 4 porções.

Different from the Tasty accounts, @bakedbymelissa is all about the sweet treats. Her Instagram aesthetic is literal #InstagramGoals with the brightly coloured posts. There aren’t any recipes, but that’s okay, the next account does.

Man About Cake

@manaboutcake is the Instagram account of the YouTube channel with the same name and is my ultimate guilty pleasure on the internet. The web series shows the host making a variety of different styled cakes with different recipes and techniques. The best part? All the recipes are available so you can create the same exact cakes, or use what you learn from their videos to make your own.

@joshuajohnrussell is the host of Man About Cake, but is also a corporate pastry chef who posts about all the fancy things he’s making. This man has more baking talent in his pinky finger than I have in my entire body ?

Those are just some of the very many accounts I’m following on Instagram that I felt needed sharing with all of you. If I’ve made it tough to keep to your healthy eating idea for 2018, I’m sorry, but also not sorry because how great are these accounts?
