I’m kind of super happy that the Geek craze seems to have hit the main stream. I see Geeky girl stuff all over the interwebs lately and it makes my heart happy. Mainly because I think geek can be glam too. These 3 high end beauty and fashion brands have decided to go geek and I for one am over the moon!
GLAMGLOW masks

Well GLAMGLOW have jumped on the geek bandwagon even more so! The Sonic masks were tons of fun but they’ve followed them up with Power Rangers ones! Oh my! GlamGlow is world famous for their gorgeous silver GRAVITYMUD FIRMING TREATMENTS that dry in an iconic silver colour. The Sonic masks were a limited edition and now they’ve taken their Geek loving a step further with a Power Rangers inspired collection. Also limited edition you can choose two new colours. Either Rita Repulsa Green or Goldar Gold. Rita and Goldar are both villains from the latest Power Rangers movie. The beauty of these treatments is that they’re designed to give you contours and better definition. I find that a GLAMGLOW mask also helps with puffy bags under my eyes. They’re divine and I love that they’ve gone geek as well! These masks are available in SA and retail for around R400.
Pandora Disney Collection
For my 30th birthday I received the most gorgeous Pandora charm bracelet from my family. It has one horse shoe charm on it so I’ve been on the look out for more to add to the bracelet. That’s how I first came across the new Disney collection from Pandora. The iconic animations have been given a high end fashion make over and are now stunning charms that you can add to your current bracelet. There are gorgeous Minnie and Micky Mouse charms as well as the most adorable Silver heart charm with Minnie and Micky kissing painted on in black enamel. Geeky, childlike and yet still so high end fashion. The collection is so whimsical and I’m in love. These are also available in South Africa with the charms varying in price – you’re looking at anything between R379 to around R1500.
Forever21 Super Mario Range
By now if you haven’t realised I’m Nintendo mad then where have you been? I saw the Forever21 Super Mario range on an overseas blogger’s instagram profile and basically lost my mind. Forever21 has a collection of amazing Mario clothing items that aren’t just geek cute. They’re actually rather stylish and could easily fit in to your work attire or on a night out without looking obviously full on geek. My favourite item in the range is the Mario Kart bomber jacket. I think it is just divine. Chic and edgy at the same time. Unfortunately this range isn’t available in South Africa so for now all we can do is drool but I’m so excited a fashion brand has jumped on board the geek train without it just being another bunch of Tshirts and hoodies. There’s even a Mario Body suit if that is more your flavour!
In short, these three brands have just made it far easier for me to show off my geek love to the world while still looking high end beauty and fashion forward.
