One night back in January I sat down in front of my computer and tried to put into words all the feelings that Life Is Strange made me feel. It was the longest I’ve ever sat staring at my screen trying to write something to share with you. Now, almost exactly 6 months later I find myself sitting here, in the same exact spot, and once again I don’t know how to do it.

One thing you should know about me is that I hate goodbyes. It doesn’t matter if it’s a good book, a TV show I love or an earth moving game, if I find myself pulled into the world then I hate it when it’s finished and I need to leave. Saying goodbye to Arcadia Bay was particularly hard, so when news broke that in just a few short weeks I could go back again, the yearning started and it’s showing no signs of stopping.
But okay let me pass on the excitement already
What is Before the Storm?
Before The Storm is the prequel to Life Is Strange, it’s set 3 years before the tragic events of the first game.
It’s still set in Arcadia Bay, only this time around you aren’t stepping into the shoes of Max, instead, you’re going to be playing as 16-year-old Chloe and exploring her life and her relationship with Rachael Amber. Now for those of you who care, DONTNOD the original studio behind Life Is Strange, is no longer involved and young Chloe has a new voice actress this time round.
Usually those would be major warning signs for me, but from what I’ve seen in terms of trailers and behind the scene videos, Deck Nine (the new studio) really have done the game justice and Before the Storm promises to be everything the Life Is Strange laid the foundation for it to be.
When is it coming out?
Life is Strange: Before the Storm will release its first three episodes on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 31 August 2017. It’s already available for Pre-Order via Steam for R183 for the first episode or R270 for the season pass. I honestly can’t wait for Before The Storm to launch, also in the last 6 months I think I’ve found a way to express how I feel: I need the romance that is Life Is Strange back in my life again.
According to the Dictionary, the word ‘Romance’ means excitement, adventure and something that is extremely real. That is what Life Is Strange is for me and I can’t wait to experience that romance once again.
