This question comes out almost always when I’m out and about trying to film a vlog for my youtube channel:
What camera is that?
The truth is, the camera I use is pretty damn awesome. It is the Canon G7X Mark ii, which I purchased after watching Alfie discuss it on Pointless Blog vlogs. Influencer marketing at its best right? Haha. There are various reasons I dig this camera and I’ve written about them before. However, based off all the comments and love for this little beast I was asked to host a panel at ICON 2017 discussing said camera. I decided to shake things up a bit and rather than plug a camera for an hour we chose to chat about the gear needed to get into vlogging. Fellow Tech Girl and my friend Chani_ZA joined me along with comedian Vittorio Leonardi who played host.
The conversation covered the gear we use as well as the gear you could use to get into vlogging. You won’t necessarily need to drop cash on the Canon G7X Mark ii to get started. The awesome folks at GameNation decided to film most of the panel and upload it to their YouTube channel in 3 parts.
