Hey! Vina

Find your next bestie with this Tinder like app Hey! VINA

I often meet other women who tell me they struggle to make female friends. There is the usual “argh girls are so much drama” comments (I find those usually come from the girls who cause the drama) but most of the time women struggling to make female friends tend to work in high powered and male dominated jobs which limit their interactions with other women at similar life stages.

That’s where Hey! VINA comes in.

Hey! Vina app

Hey! VINA is a new iPhone app that was started by two women who, surprise surprise, work in Silicon Valley in San Francisco. Over a glass of wine they came up with the app as a means to connect ladies. Hey! VINA uses a very similar Tinder type set up to help match women up with others who share their interests. It’s not only about finding besties though. The app can be used a way to network with other women in your field, find a workout partner (with my new fitness kick I love this one!), or possibly find a friendly face if you travel a lot. Maybe you’re newly single and looking for other women to spend a Friday night out with or maybe as a new mom you’re desperate to connect with other moms for a fun play date – that’s what this app is about.

How does Hey! VINA work?

Hey! Vina app

Much like Tinder you start by connecting your Facebook account and then you answer some questions about your lifestyle and what you’re looking for. The app will match you according to your interests and requirements with other likeminded ladies. From there you swipe through the options and hopefully make a match. Unlike Tinder you won’t need to have an internal debate about whether you message first, the app does that for you by sending an introductory message. Pretty rad right?

From there is it up to you to make a plan to meet with your new bestie!

I like the concept behind Hey! VINA and it is definitely an app I’d like to try out. What a great way to connect strong women both locally and internationally.

What do you think? Will you be trying to app to make new friends?

Thanks Nicki Dadic for sharing this fab app with us all the way from Australia!

You know you are so right! I see all these besties living their life together and I just struggle with finding new people to start friendships with! I was just wondering if the app works for teenagers in high school…

Hi! I do think it should work in high school. I’m not 100% sure it works here in SA though which is frustrating. Finding new friends is always hard. When I was in school I really battled with that so I completely understand where you’re coming from. It is difficult sometimes and can be really frustrating because you begin to feel like there is something wrong with you (when there most definitely isn’t!).
