Turn your photos into custom nail wraps

Let no one tell you that Snapchat teaches us nothing! I learnt how to turn your photos into custom nail wraps by watching a Discovery channel on the network (tongue out pulling rasberries at the Snapchat haters right now!). A kickstarter project has turned in to a fully fledged business called NailSnaps. You download a free app for iOS (Android is coming, yet another reason for me to fight when they try take this iPhone 6s back… I’m in love) and then select a photo from your phone or social media accounts.

Once you’ve made your photo decision the app then lets you decide how the photos will look on your nails. It also shows you the bits that may be filed off so you can get it just right!

Once you’re done you order and they ship your custom nail wraps for free.. to the US only. Bummer! Well… not really. The package is so small (i.e. it is an envelope) that if you’ve abused my Aramex Global Shopper advice (and if you haven’t boo on you!) you could ship to your US address and then just bring it to SA for possibly a hundred or so rand. Easy!

I’m in love with this idea. Mainly because you can get really funky nails without having to spend a small fortune at a fancy manicure bar for custom designs. I’m also surprised none of our local printing stores have got in on the action yet (Psst Nifty 250, I expect free nail wraps for life if you pull this one off!).

Have a photo you’d love to turn in to custom nail wraps? I want to see it! Please post it below or send me a tweet (@TechGirlZA).
