Michael Fassbender stars in the Assassin’s Creed movie which will be released in 2016. Assassin’s Creed is one of my favourite games to play and I’m a huge fan of Fassbender. Whenever I’m asked who my favourite superhero is it is always involves a complicated answer.
He is also one of the producers of the movie!
Since I was a small kid I was obsessed with the X-Men and, specifically, Magneto. He is my superhero and I love the internal light and dark struggle he has always had to wrestle with. Ian McKellen did such a spectacular job of bringing the character to life in the first X-Men movies. When I found out Fassbender would take up the role in X-Men First Class I had some serious concerns. I didn’t want him to ruin the McKellen character I had come to love. He definitely didn’t disappoint and cemented my love for the mutant more so.
Needless to say I’m over the moon that he will now star in the movie adaptation of the video game. The Assassin’s Creed movie is set to release on 21 December 2016. Fassbender said he didn’t play the game beforehand but, told Entertainment Weekly that since taking up the role he has been playing. Specifically to get a feel for the physicality of the character. If you’re a fan of Assassin’s Creed you’ll know there is a lot of parkour so we can expect some stealthy killing and Fassbender leaping off buildings.
Unfortunately I presume, based on the sexy hoods those assassins wear, we aren’t getting as many shirtless shots as I’d like.. yup, THAT shallow!
