So you’re walking down the street in Paris, France and you see some words have been painted on a wall, and you don’t speak French, but you have this cool Google Translate App. And you flip out your phone Elektra blade style and you hold the camera lens to the words and BAM! Google Translate App reads the words for you. Instantly.
Google Translate’s App can now translate printed text in 27 languages, which is pretty cool, because I do not know how to type in Korean.
This App feature is available in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Bulgarian, Catalan (Do any of you guys know what Catalan is? I would like to visit Catala), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Filipino, Finnish, Hungarian, Indonesian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Romanian, Slovak, Swedish, Turkish and Ukrainian.
According to TechCrunch Google’s secret for the speed of instant translations, is its use of convolutional neural networks. I have no idea what that means either. But it’s available in iStores and Play Stores, so if you’re planning on going around the world or going undercover, or going to Korea – get this app.
