TapThere

TapThere – another live streaming app you’ll love

Oh iPhone users, how I hate you right now. You have Meerkat, you have Periscope and while they try bring out the Android versions, I really do feel a little bit left out. Then I found TapThere and now I’ve spent the last hour browsing iPhone 6 prices. Seriously.

I want the rad live streaming apps dammit!

TapThere sounds pretty cool. You have a world map, zoom anywhere in the world you want to see and then ask a person who is there (you see little avatars) to show you what it is like there, right then, LIVE! So you wanted to see Kate and William present their little girl to the world? No problem, zoom in, find someone there and you could have watched it from their view on your phone as it happened. If no one is there you can create a crowd request and that way, if someone is there, they can see it and respond.

TapThere

Here’s why I would use TapThere:

  • I could get live hands on accounts of world news. Think strikes, protests or those moments of world significance. Like seeing Kate’s dress a few hours after giving birth as she jumps in a car and drives away…..
  • It’s a chance to share my experiences with you. I always want to be able to take readers with to tech launches and let them experience it. I usually get shot down but with TapThere you could just watch it live if you wanted to.
  • TapThere allows you to stream live to Twitter and Facebook. So your friends don’t have to have TapThere to get in on the action.

According to the TapThere website an Android app is on the way. For the time being I’ll sob myself to sleep.

If Tech Girl used TapThere would you be interested in the live streaming of events to your phone, Twitter and/or Facebook account?
