How to Party this December

Oh December, the month of expensive friends, unwanted family visits, weight gain, and parties. If you are hosting a party this December and have finally hit your creative game cap, then I might have the best party games that are available on the market. From dancing around like a moron, to laughing uncontrollably at your friend’s stupidity, these are the most important party games this festive season.

For the casual party

Just Dance 2015

decemberparty1

Available on – Wii U, Wii, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360

I use to despise the idea of flapping my arms around at a camera attached to my Xbox One, I mean I am Italian, all we do is talk using our hands. But when Just Dance 2015 rolled around with its 40 song track list, 6 player on screen support, and ridiculous body recognition, everything changed. The game has a crazy line-up of songs to dance to from Katy Perry to Break Free by Ariana Grande. You can also get your posse together, strap on some high heels, grab a glass of Rose, and dance with up to six people at the same time. It’s like Dancing with the Stars, but less classy, and so much more fun.

Wii Party U

Available on – Wii U

If I tell you that Wii Party U is the best party game Nintendo has ever put together, would you believe me? Well you should. The game is an absolute rollercoaster of enjoyment as you rope in anyone who has ever played a game before and test their skill at over 80 mini games. The best thing about it is that the mini games offer so much variety that you will never feel like you have done the same game before. You will mock your friends and laugh until your ribs cannot deal any longer. Especially when it comes to games that revolve around you walking around your lounge pretending to scoop water up with your remote while you bump your friends over.

SingStar Ultimate Party

decemberparty4

Available on – PS3, PS4

30 tracks of ear wrenching karaoke, what more is there to life? The latest SingStar: Ultimate Party scraps the usual microphones that shipped with the previous copies and now uses an app that everyone can download. Singing to Mother Monster, or Lorde, even some TLC (I don’t want no scrubs – you gone make me feel old now). The SingStar Ultimate Party is the perfect way to spend the holidays, listening to your friend’s sad attempts at singing, because at the end of the day we all sing beautifully don’t we?

For the hardcore party

LittleBigPlanet 3

decemberparty5

Available on – PS3, PS4

We all love Sackboy and his new pack of cuddly sack things. LittleBigPlanet is meant to be played with 4 people slapping each other across the face, pulling each other off ledges, and utterly demolishing everyone on screen. Sure there are objectives, but who cares about that? LittleBigPlanet 3 features full backwards compatibility from previous games, meaning you can play all those millions of levels that featured on LittleBigPlanet 1,2, and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita.

Mario Kart 8

decemberparty6

Available on – Wii U

Start your engines, and get your elbow space ready, because Mario Kart 8 is an absolute pleasure playing with 3 other people. It is surprising how easy it is to pick up and play, virtually anyone who has never played a game before could master the controls in one race. The game also just got a new DLC pack that for the first time in the series’ history included new racers and tracks. Princess Peach, Mario, Luigi, even Link is now playable on all 40 tracks so far.
