The Tech Girl Christmas Gift List

‘Tis the season to… make a list of the most rad gadgets you want to find under the tree this year! Okay, just kidding, but a girl can dream right?  We’ve debated The Tech Girl Christmas gift list 2014 for a while now. Should we give you a list of the hottest techie toys and where to buy them? We figured everyone else would be doing that anyway. So, instead, some of the Tech Girls shared their letters to Father Christmas and what they’re hoping to find under the tree:

I’ve been eyeing out the gorgeous clutch handbags with a built in phone charger for a while now. There have been some gorgeous international designs floating around South Africa but I could never justify the price. However, there is a new South African kid on the block called Take Charge and they offer up gorgeous two tone clutch bags, which include a built in charger,  that allows you to charge your phone or tablet. The clutches are priced at R699. I love that the inside of the bags have a gorgeous print as well. There are also handbags priced at about R999. I wouldn’t mind finding one of these pretty bags under the tree this year.

I’m also still on the look out for a pair of really sexy over ear headphones. I’ve narrowed my choices down to 5… so best I not take up the whole article listing them. Is there anything better than a pair of headphones?

Ooh, 5 things! First the Nutribullet, it’s a high speed blender available at Yuppiechef. I’m trying to be healthy and I feel like this would help me on my quest. Next up, the iRobot Scooba Floor Scrubbing Robot. Chester, the Roomba we’ve had for over a year now is great and it’s super convenient not having to vacuum the floor, but he needs a sister to wash the floor so that I don’t have to any more. I’m also asking Santa for a Tuneband, the one item I tell myself I need and that might convince me to leave the couch and go for a walk/attempt a jog. There’s also the Drop Baking Scale, something that I don’t strictly need, but this just seems amazing. The final item on my list? A 3D Printer from Formlabs. With one of these I would probably feel like I can take over the world. I can think of so many things I’d like to make with this.

Hmmm, not so much techie but I’d love a collection of Marvel comics super hero figures for Christmas!

I would love to wake up and find a PlayStation TV under my tree this year. The device would save me from unplugging my PlayStation 4 every time I want to play a game in my lounge. It also has the ability to play PS One games, so hello Crash Bandicoot and Final Fantasy VII! Please Santa! I have been a very good boy!

I’ve recently been ordered back to swimming only as my exercise, while I’m in ‘back rehab’ (which seems to be a very very long time) and the only exciting thing about swimming up and down a pool 20 times a day is, well, nothing. So on my Christmas wish list, I added the Interval 4G Waterproof Headphone System to keep me going and not drown of boredom. They’re pretty fancy. It’s a waterproof case with integrated headphones (yes, the headphones are included) designed for 4th generation (the current generation) iPod shuffle.

For some reason I’m becoming pretty nostalgic with age – perhaps it’s a result of new parenthood – but I would absolutely love to receive a small, compact and portable photo printer like the Canon Selphy. I have literally thousands of photos on my phone and my laptop, but that’s no good if they’re just sitting in a folder. I want to be able to flick through albums and scrapbooks one day, and I think there’s something charming about having a physical, printed copy.

This year I would like a Moleskin Smart Notebook. Although we live in a digital age and I work in that age, I always carry a good old fashioned notebook around with me. This is the best of both worlds, as it turns your sketches into adobe digital files. Also I’ve been good this year.

What’s on your Christmas wish list this year? Let us know in the comments… maybe we can whisper in Santa’s ear.

I'd love to chat to you some more.
