Last night the LG G3 launched in Johannesburg. We’re not going to go through all the fancy technical specs, we did that while in London at the international launch of this smartphone gem – so you read all that info here.
Here’s the stuff you do need to know:
- The LG G3 is now in South Africa.
- The phone will be available from all 3 networks (Vodacom, Cell C & MTN) as of 1 August.
- If you plan to buy the G3 outright you’ll need to hand over R9000.
We had a chance to speak to Thomas van der Linde (LG South Africa’s General Manager of Marketing and Mr Namhee Woo (Product Director of LG Mobile South Africa) last night. We loved the way Thomas described the G3’s development as “innovation for simplicity”. The phone offers up a range of functionality that takes a straight up no fuss route. Think about how many apps you have on your phone that you don’t use? LG’s G3 is designed to get rid of the clutter.
Mr Namhee Woo pointed us in the direction of many global reviews that are touting the G3 as one of the best smartphones for 2014. We’ve only had a few minutes to play on the phone but are already tempted to agree. We’ll have a full serious review on the phone for you in the next few weeks… and by serious we mean Smartphone bum testing, wine spillage and a stack of selfies. Brace yourself.
