Solar Powered Lantern radio

Win this Solar Powered Lantern radio that also charges your phone!

This is the perfect gift for the December holidays if you’re a fan of hanging outside or camping in the bush. My best friend is heading off to camp near the beach and I’ve already had to pry this baby out of her hands.

Solar Powered Lantern radio

Firefly Products introduced the G3 Solar Powered Lantern to be more energy efficient and environmentally friendly giving you the power back when you need it! It is such a great lantern because it provides light but also has a built-in radio AND can charge your phone. It’s the perfect all in one solution for those ‘Eskom moments’ or when you are out and about on the beach or in the bush. The Solar Powered Lantern needs 8 hours in the sun to charge and will then give you 20 hours of light. Its valued at a little under R500.

I really dig it and now you can win one!

Solar Powered Lantern radio

To get in to the Christmas spirit I’ll be giving away one G3 Solar Powered Lantern this week. All you need to do is comment on this post and tell me how you’ll use your Lantern at home or on holiday – that easy. You’ll also need to send out a tweet. Easy as! Good luck!

We are avid campers that have done from Zim, Zambia, Botswana, Moz and Namibia to Cape Town with our kids in tow. Would love to have a solar lantern for the times we go off the grid.

Perfect replacement for my little battery operated lantern, in case of load shedding. Alternatively an ideal gift for Christmas!

It’s so dark around our pool, so I think this will be great on a summer’s night, letting the kids swim, seeing as we can now actually see them with this lantern around 🙂

  • Reply Riaz December 15, 2016 at 13:10

use it to go around the house in the night , saving power

  • Reply Lauren Greve December 16, 2016 at 11:29

Ooh I love it! I am addicted to cape talk, so this would be fantastic so that I am able to stay up to date on current affairs while rock climbing or hiking in the cederberg. Being a greenie, I would even use it outside instead of the outside lights while enjoying a glass of wine and a book! Great prize!

  • Reply Tracy Jacobs December 18, 2016 at 08:27

Awesome giveaway! We are planning a two night camping trip with our children so this would be ideal 🙂

This is so useful, i would definitely use it as a back up in a busy household, for those power cut days/nights x

    Beach days! And camp nights.

Getting to the dam or river bank always begins with finding a great spot to pitch a tent which wont cause us to wake up with sore backs or with all our sleeping bags trying to converge into one since they played a game of roll and slide after finally getting to dreamland. And for some reason this ritual always seems to be competing with twilight. So it would be a great aid to these weekends, that never seem to happen often enough, from pitching up the tent, to shedding some light between camp chairs and lighting up the tent.
