Zomato just got even better – a new Uber partnership has been introduced

I think by now you’ve figured out that I LOVE Zomato. I’ve convinced most of my friends to get on the app and I spend far too much scouring it for new spots to eat breakfast (my favourite meal of the day) and reading my friends reviews.

Last night Zomato announced they will be partnering up with Uber (another app that gets a lot of use on my phone) to make getting to your favourite restaurants a little bit easier.

This is so clever: you go in to Zomato and find a restaurant in your area that you want to try out. With the new Uber tie in you’ll have an Uber button added to the restaurant profiles on Zomato. You tap the Uber button and you’ll then be able to find the nearest Uber and book it (the process is identical to the way you’d use it in the actual Uber app. So you’ll see the estimated far, be able to choose your favourite service and get estimated arrival time deets).

In a few months when you open your Uber app you’ll also be notified of rad eating spots near your destination. It’s ideal if you’re travelling in a new city or out of province.

I think this new Uber partnership was a clever move on Zomato’s part and I’m excited to try it out. It’s a rather clever way to prep the perfect Valentine’s Day date (because it is just around the corner) without having to jump between apps. The Uber partnership is currently available for Zomato users in the UK and South Africa (ironically the two places I use the app the most). It’s available in London, Cape Town, Durban & Johannesburg. It will be rolled out to other regions shortly.

So my dinner plans are sorted tonight… and I can have a glass of wine (or two) too, because I won’t be driving!

I'd love to chat to you some more.
